Stan finished his first juvenile
fantasy novel, The Dragons of Shadara, in 1998. He
published it through 1st Books (which later became AuthorHouse) in 2003. Also a singer/songwriter,
Stan
published Inspiration For Songwriters: Tips and Tricks to
Unlocking the Muse in 2006 and
The Songwriter's Journal: 52 Weeks of Songwriting Inspiration in 2007.
In 2008 he finished and published
The Misadventures of Hobart Hucklebuck, a fantasy book
with a mystery twist, that was aimed at the
8-12 age group. The book has been garnering rave reviews. He is currently
hard at work on the
second book in the Hobart Hucklebuck series. The second book,
The Misadventures of Hobart Hucklebuck: Pandemonium in Pennywhistle, should
be available in the fall of 2012 with other books in the series to
follow.

While working on re-writes for the
second Hobart book, Stan turned his attention to a new genre: adult
fiction. Looking for something a little out of the ordinary, he
decided to write a fiction book about, well, that's right...
zombies.
That one may be a little hard to
explain, but he always loved zombie movies and thought there was a
niche that could be filled. He read several popular zombie novels
and although he found some nice entries, he knew he could compete in
the arena so began writing several short stories with a zombie
theme. The result was Forever Zombie: A Collection of
Undead Guy Tales which is now available (and definitely not
for kids).
Stan is currently working on two
steampunk novels.

Forever Zombie:
A Collection of Undead Guy Tales
Zombies and quick-witted humor? You
bet! Not your typical blood and gore zombie tales, even non-zombie
fans will enjoy these stories. These tales will make you almost
believe that the existence of zombies is a distinct possibility and
that life after the undead might be much different than you might
imagine.
Consider the plight of the Grim Reaper
when he descends upon the law offices of Romero, O'Bannon, Fulci &
Flanders only to find his next "client" is already dead in "Every
Death You Take". Or how about "The Farmer's Daughter" who brings her
boyfriend home to meet the family and he isn't exactly what they
imagine a future son-in-law might be like. Or a creepy visit to a
zombie museum in the middle of nowhere in "A Night At The Zombie
Museum". And who do you think might be smarter? A gang of zombie
bikers or the I.Q. delinquent hillbillies in "Ozark Hicks and Zombie
Chicks"? Well, it's a close call.
And it's all here in "Forever Zombie:
A Collection of Undead Guy Tales" and each story has a special touch
that will keep you reading far into the night. Think you can read
just one tale each night before bed? Try two or three. Or maybe
you'll still be reading the last of the 12 short stories included in
the collection before the sun comes up the next morning. But as an
added precaution, make sure you check your pulse every once in
awhile.

"Forever Zombie caught me by surprise.
There is a sinister humor here reminiscent of Edward Gorey, and a
playfulness that echoes Roald Dahl. It's a curious mix, but it works
great. Trust me: whichever way your pleasure tends, whether it's a
subtly placed bit of characterization or a deliciously plotted twist
ending, you're going to find something to love here. Forever Zombie
is a hit!" --Joe McKinney, Dead City and Apocalypse of the Dead

Write of the Living Dead:
A Writing Guide for Your Dark Side
Two redhead educators and a horror
publisher walk into a bar . . . during a zombie apocalypse. Armed
with only their wits and a fully-charged-laptop battery, they
hammered out the world's darkest writing manual amidst the flurry
and chaos of gnashing teeth and rotting cadavers. Each chapter of
the handbook is devoted to a different genre of writing--everything
from academic writing (complete with MLA and APA sample essays),
business writing, and even poetry and fiction--all of it with a dark
and undead twist. Developing or improving your writing skills has
never been so enjoyable. WRITE OF THE LIVING DEAD is the spawn of
two scholarly writers and a publisher conspiring to create a freshly
dug look at writing for different genres and media. Spattered with
popular horror culture and written with horror enthusiasts in mind,
this book raises the struggling writing handbook from the dead.
Addressing methods of voice, style, function, and formula, WRITE OF
THE LIVING DEAD is the perfect tool for students, writers, poets,
authors, business writers, and teachers with a dark side.
